Hi, I'm Garret LeClair, a professional personal chef from Maine with over 10 years of culinary experience. I specialize in creating customized menus for families, events and special occasions.
I provide a range of at home/at site culinary services, including multicourse dining experiences, family style table experiences, drop off catering services, post dining pick up and cleaning services. I have worked at 10 different restaurants and one mobile food truck over the last decade. I was the Chef de Cuisine of Rubys West End in Portland where I was in control of kitchen operations and menu changes working with Executive Chef Matt Stum. After my time at Rubys, I went to work under Chef Neil Zebreski at Regards in Portland. My experience at restaurants has been a range of cuisines including American BBQ, Neapolitan style pizza, Mexican, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Irish, English, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern. I enjoy taking ideas, techniques, and flavors from different cuisines from around the world and creating new and exciting dishes using fresh local ingredients. Cooking is my outlet and the way I express myself artistically. One of the reasons I love food is this concept that I learned while living in Spain called sobremesa. Sobremesa, which translates to upon the table, is this magical spell that gets casted when in the presence of good food, good drinks and good company. The magic is when you're at the table, sitting with everyone having a good time, laughing and telling stories, time feels irrelevant, but when someone gets up it's like the spell is broken. My goal with each dining experience is for people to experience this sobremesa and to have an all inclusive experience where I bring you plate after plate of good food.
